The California Educational Technology Professionals Association (CETPA) has established the CETPA Student Bridge to the Future Scholarship Program to assist high school seniors who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship Management Services®, a division of Scholarship America®. Scholarship Management Services is the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.
CETPA offers two scholarships within this program:
- One scholarship is awarded to an individual who will be attending a four year university.
- One scholarship is awarded to an individual attending a two year, community or vocational college. CETPA recognizes the value that community and vocational institutions bring to individuals with special circumstances that prevent them from attending a four year university right out of high school.
Applications will be accepted December 1, 2010 through February 28, 2011
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants to the CETPA Student Bridge to the Future Scholarship Program must be -
- High school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time* undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.
* Full-time study is defined as full-time enrollment for the entire upcoming academic year.
- Nominated by a CETPA member**.
**A CETPA member may nominate multiple students but only one student per member can be selected to receive a scholarship in the program.
AWARDS
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $3,000 award. Up to two (2) awards will be granted each year. One award will be given to a 4-year college student and one award will be given to a 2-year college or vocational student, if qualified applicants are received.Preference will be granted to students currently attending a public high school in California who plan to enroll at a college in California.
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of maintaining a cumulative GPA minimum of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) in a full-time course of study at a college whose credits are transferable to a California community college or university and continuation of the program by CETPA. Awards are for undergraduate study only.
APPLICATION
Interested students must complete the application and mail it along with a current, complete transcript of grades to Scholarship Management Services postmarked no later than February 28. Grade reports are not acceptable. Online transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours earned for each course, and term in which each course was taken.
