2010 President's Message
CETPA Annual Conference in Monterey for 2010
do what CETPA does like no other organization. We bring together experts
across our four pillars: Secure, Reliable Infrastructure; Technology
Tools for Education; Policy and Programs that Impact Education and Technology;
and New Learning Environments. We share the best ideas, innovations,
policies and practices from districts, counties and other educational
organizations throughout and beyond the state. Our members are able
to focus on gathering solutions to common problems we all face, all in a
condensed format with maximum benefit.
We’ll have our usual robust selection of great breakout sessions from your K12
colleagues and experts from the vendor community, keynote addresses, hands-on
labs, and time available in our Technology Pavilion to get “up close and
personal” with some of the latest innovations.
Though education budgets were incredibly brutal last year, CETPA members showed
up at a rate higher than for the conferences of similar organizations.
Why? Because our members realize that, in the toughest of times,
technology decisions become more critical, and the need to avoid costly
mistakes more crucial. The investment in attending the CETPA conference
is one that many organizations wisely make, knowing the potential dividends it
can pay all year. We’ll have our usual “best value” full conference
registration, plus one-day options at a special rate.
We’ll continue our tradition of bringing together the remarkable K12 business
partner community in our annual “Vendor Exposition” on Thursday. This
gathering of exhibitors from almost every category of technology support and
services gives our members a unique opportunity to gather information, ask
questions, see demonstrations and compare products in one place.
And as always, the conference never misses the opportunity for fun and great
networking opportunities with your fellow professionals. We will again
return to the spectacular Monterey Bay Aquarium for the President’s Reception,
celebrating an incredibly special anniversary in an incredibly special way!
On behalf of the CETPA board, I want to extend an invitation to you to start
planning now to join us at this year’s 50th anniversary celebration in
Monterey!
