Overview
"50 Years of Gold” is the theme of this year’s conference. We are celebrating 50 years of this incredible organization. CETPA has a wealth of history and is making great progress with our organization and its membership. Our conference returns to the beautiful Monterey Bay this year. The conference will be held at the Portola Plaza Hotel and Monterey Conference Center.
There are few organizations that can boast of this longevity especially in this time of change in education. CETPA formerly CEDPA (from the days of punch cards and data processing) has evolved into an organization with a voice and purpose toward providing meaningful collaboration and establishing leadership for technology in K-12 education. With the challenges we are all facing in tough and uncertain economic times the CETPA Board would like to provide an opportunity to celebrate the major accomplishments, sustainability of its membership and the direction of this organization.
This year’s conference will not only take the time to reflect on its rich past but will also help chart a direction for the future. Speaker sessions will feature among other themes; How to stretch an IT budget, Digital Textbooks and eReaders, Providing Policies to Chart the Web 2.0 Waters. This is a conference that will have direct relevance for today’s K-12 technology leaders. As our board is planning for this exciting 50 year celebration, we will be reaching out to gather input from the members. This page will provide a means for you to collaborate and get involved.
As always, this year’s conference will feature a dynamic list of keynote addresses, relevant speaker sessions and a great exhibitor show on Thursday, October 21st. We expect to host over 165 exhibitors who have reminded us that of all the shows they attend, CETPA is the show that they will not miss. Updates will be provided on Speakers. The President’s Reception, which will be at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and for those of you who missed the conference in 2006, you won’t want to miss this one.
So mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 19th through Friday, October 22nd. Our conference returns to the beautiful backdrop of Monterey Bay with room blocks available at both the Portola Plaza and the Marriot.
There are many reasons to attend including:

- Hands on Labs with several sessions that let you experience the technology first hand

- CETPA’s Silent Auction raises money for our Bridge to the Future Student Scholarships.
The Registration fee includes all sessions, hands-on-labs, tech-talks, general sessions, exhibitor show, receptions and hospitality suites. Continental breakfast is offered on Wednesday and Thursday and a full breakfast on Friday. Lunch is served on Wednesday and Thursday.
